The hair covering your house is not the topcoat, it is the soft undercoat shedding out beneath it. A normal brush skims over the top and misses it entirely. A deshedding blade has teeth fine enough to pass through the guard hairs and pull that dead undercoat out, and the volume it removes the first time is genuinely startling.

Key Benefits

  • Reaches the undercoat that ordinary brushes skim over
  • Dramatically reduces the hair shed around the house
  • Removes dead coat that would otherwise trap heat in summer
  • Improves airflow to the skin on thick-coated breeds
  • Ergonomic handle for the long sessions this needs
  • Release button clears the packed hair in one press

Best For

  • Double-coated breeds: huskies, German shepherds, corgis
  • Spring and autumn coat blows
  • Homes overwhelmed by shed hair
  • Thick-coated dogs struggling in summer heat
  • Reducing hair before it reaches the sofa

How It Works

Use it on a dry, brushed-out coat, working with the lie of the hair in long light strokes. Let the tool do the work rather than pressing. Ten or fifteen minutes is plenty; going over the same area repeatedly cuts guard hairs and thins the topcoat, which is the damage people do without realising.

Pros and Cons

Pros: The only tool here that reaches the undercoat, makes an immediate visible difference to shedding, and helps thick-coated dogs cope with heat.

Cons: It is easy to overdo. Repeated passes damage the topcoat and can leave bald patches, and it is unnecessary on single-coated breeds. On a matted coat it will pull painfully, so mats must be cleared first.

Things to Consider

  • Do not repeat passes over the same area — it damages the topcoat
  • Unnecessary and unhelpful on single-coated breeds
  • Clear any mats before using it, or it will pull painfully
  • Use on a dry coat only
  • Ten to fifteen minutes per session is enough
  • Prices, availability and shipping times are set by the AliExpress seller and can change
