Treat the price as a guide, not a quote. AliExpress sellers change prices through the day — we have watched items here move by more than 20% between one morning and the same evening — and the figure above is for one option, so a different size or colour usually costs something different again. App-only deals and personal coupons move it again at checkout. Always read the price on AliExpress before you buy. Figures come from the AliExpress listing, checked 15 hours ago. The feedback score is the seller’s, not a rating by us — we have not tested this product.

A long line is the standard tool for teaching recall, and it is deliberately not a retractable lead. There is no spool to fail, no tension pulling the dog away from you, and no thin cord to burn a hand. It is a length of webbing that lets the dog make a real choice about coming back while making it impossible for them to get it wrong.

Key Benefits

  • No constant tension, so the dog is not being pulled back the whole walk
  • Flat webbing rather than thin cord – it will not burn hands
  • Nothing mechanical to jam or break
  • Two lengths for different stages of training

Best For

  • Teaching recall to a puppy or a new rescue
  • Dogs whose recall is nearly there but not reliable
  • Fields and beaches where the extra length is safe

How It Works

Clip it to a harness, let the line trail, and let the dog range. Call, and if they come, pay heavily. If they do not, you pick up the line rather than chasing. The absence of tension matters: a retractable lead is always pulling slightly, which teaches a dog to lean into pressure, and a long line does not.

Pros and Cons

Pros: The correct tool for recall work, cheaper than a retractable lead and with nothing to go wrong.

Cons: Five metres of webbing gets muddy, tangled in undergrowth and wrapped round legs, including yours.

Things to Consider

  • Use a harness, never a collar – a dog hitting the end of five metres at speed can injure their neck
  • Wear gloves for the first sessions; webbing dragged through a hand still stings
  • Not for use in crowds or woodland – it snags on everything
  • Prices, availability and shipping times are set by the AliExpress seller and can change
