Chewing everything

Chewing is normal. A dog that chews the wrong things usually has nothing better to chew, or is teething, or is bored. Replacing the target works better than punishing the habit.

Match the toy to the jaw. A powerful chewer goes through soft plush in minutes and swallows the stuffing, so solid rubber and thick rope are the honest choices; a teething puppy wants something soft enough to give. The ‘indestructible’ claim is marketing on every listing that carries it, ours included, which is why the product notes say what each one is actually made of.

Two hard rules from the play guide: nothing smaller than the dog can swallow, and no toy is safe unsupervised for a whole afternoon. Safe Play for Dogs covers the sizing and what to throw out.
