The price shown above is the one we last read from the seller. During the sale it is usually higher than what you will actually pay, so check the figure on AliExpress rather than ours.

Discount codes are issued per country and most of September’s do not apply in the US, UK, Canada or the EU. Whatever code you qualify for appears at the AliExpress checkout.

Treat the price as a guide, not a quote. AliExpress sellers change prices through the day — we have watched items here move by more than 20% between one morning and the same evening — and the figure above is for one option, so a different size or colour usually costs something different again. App-only deals and personal coupons move it again at checkout. Always read the price on AliExpress before you buy. Figures come from the AliExpress listing, checked 1 day ago. The feedback score is the seller’s, not a rating by us — we have not tested this product.

Where a dog’s head goes, the body follows. That is the entire principle: a head halter turns a pulling contest into a steering problem, and it is the reason a sixty-kilo dog can be walked by someone half its weight. It is also widely misused, and misused it can hurt.

Key Benefits

  • Steers from the head, so far less force is needed
  • Makes a very strong dog manageable for a light handler
  • Turns the dog’s attention back to you rather than forward
  • Padded nose loop on most versions to reduce rubbing

Best For

  • Large powerful dogs with handlers who cannot physically hold them
  • Rehabilitation walks where control matters more than freedom
  • Bridging the gap while loose-lead training is taught

How It Works

A loop over the muzzle attaches under the chin. When the dog pulls forward, the head turns gently sideways instead, which removes the forward force without any pressure on the throat. The dog is redirected, not restrained.

Pros and Cons

Pros: Nothing else gives this much control for this little force, and for some handler-and-dog pairings it is the difference between walking the dog and not.

Cons: Two real problems. Almost every dog hates it at first and needs a week or more of short, food-heavy sessions before it is accepted — putting one on and going straight out produces a dog that paws and rubs its face along the ground. And a sudden hard jerk on a head halter twists the neck, which is why it must never be used with a long line, a retractable lead or a dog that lunges at the end of slack. It is also a management tool, not training: it makes the walk possible today, and the pulling comes straight back the moment it is off, unless you are actually teaching loose-lead walking alongside it.

Things to Consider

  • Never attach to a retractable or long lead; a hard jerk can injure the neck
  • Introduce over a week with food before walking in it
  • Prices, availability and shipping times are set by the AliExpress seller and can change
