The rest of this site is organised by what a thing is: a bowl, a harness, a bed. That is how a shop thinks, and it is not how anyone arrives. Nobody wakes up wanting a front-clip harness — they want their dog to stop dragging them down the street.
So here is the same catalogue cut the other way. Each problem below opens onto what we actually stock for it, with a page explaining which parts of the problem the equipment can fix and which parts it cannot. Several of them say plainly that the answer is training or a vet rather than a purchase, because that is true more often than an affiliate site likes to admit.
Just got a puppy? That is a stage rather than a problem, so it is not in the list below. A Puppy’s First Six Months sets out what to buy and when, and the puppy essentials page is the short list that goes with it.
-
Pulling on the lead
Front-clip harnesses and long lines that make loose-lead training possible. No retractable leads, and the page says why.
6
-
Chewing everything
Rubber, rope and treat-holding toys matched to jaw strength, with the sizing rule that keeps them safe.
13
-
Eating too fast
Maze bowls, lick mats and snuffle mats that turn a thirty-second meal into a five-minute one.
10
-
Shedding everywhere
Slickers, deshedding blades and gloves, matched to coat type rather than sold as one tool for everything.
12
-
Overheating in summer
Cooling mats, paddling pools and travel water, and an honest account of what a cooling mat actually does.
9
-
Barking too much
Enrichment first, deterrents second, and a straight answer on which kinds of barking a device can change.
9
-
Running off and getting lost
GPS trackers, Bluetooth tags, recall whistles and long lines. Neither tracker type replaces a microchip.
8
-
Walking in the dark
Light-up collars and clip-on pendants for the months when both walks happen in the dark.
6
-
Car journeys
Tethers, hammocks, barriers and booster seats, with what a tether protects against and what it does not.
14
-
Bad breath and teeth
Toothbrushes, dog-safe paste and dental chews, and why brushing is the only part that reliably works.
